I think you have missed what I am tyring to achieve. As I said in the first
post in this thread I don't want users to have to open the item card. It
makes more sense to be able to configure the fields in the main list to
display the type (i.e. email type) of data you want to display. Anyways, I
believe I have my answer: Exchange / Outlook 2007!!

I hope so. When I open any item in the GAL and select the E-mail
Addresses tab, I see not only the X.400 address but the Internet addresses
our Exchange Admins added as aliases. You're correct though, that if you
do not open the item and just examine the address book listing, that the
type is EX and the address is the X.400 address. If you can't open the
item, then my suggestion is worthless.
