error when trying to send e-mail

When I send an email with ANY attachment it stays in the outbox and tells
me
there was an error, yet nothing appears in the error box. The email
however
does not get automatically moved to the sent box, rather it gets
repeatedly
sent to teh recipient - I have to remove it to stop it.
I have reinstalled Outlook, I have tried a system restore, I have disabled
my AV software but nothing seems to work.
This problem has started within the last two days - before this it was
working fine. I have not downloaded any additional software during this
period.
The emails are fine to send with no attachments.
Any help would be appreciated
