Default Newbie Outlook question on error "Unable to locate any profileson this computer"

If Earthlink is not your ISP you can simply uninstall the Earthlink
software. It's not needed by your ISP.

On the other hand, if Earthlink is your ISP you have to ask them how to
use their software.

And, as always in this crazy world, you need to be 100% certain that you
are free of any type of malware.

Thanks for the quick response, guys.

I can't find "Set Program Access and Defaults" under
START | All Programs
in XP, though I looked in both XP Pro, Service Pack 2, and XP Home,
Service Pack 1.

By START, I assume you mean the Start button in the lower left corner
of the XP desktop, right? I must say that, though I have worked with
XP for a long time, I have never noticed an entry
START | All Programs | Set Program Access and Defaults

So what's my mistake here?

Thanks,
Wolfgang

Earthlink software is being used and it includes OE as the email client.

Change the default email program to just Outlook Express. First try in START
| All Programs | Set Program Access and Defaults.

Click on Custom srrow to expand it then change the default to just Outlook
Express. Earthlink may show there as well.
