In the case where you do not have the option to unblock pictures:
There are a few possibilities. Some are on the sender's end, and some may be
on your end.

At times I get emails from sources that when I view the emails red X's
appear where pictures should be. While viewing the mail a line above the
mail has the following message, "Some pictures have been blocked to help
prevent the sender from identifying your computer, Click to download
pictures."
sometimes I get email from friends that include pictures but they don't
appear, instead I see a red X, how can I get the above mentioned line to
appear so I can use it to see the pictures. No plain text box is not
checked in options.
