Default Millenium to XP Upgrade & Outlook Express probs

I tried this and I am still having the smae problem. I get a prompt to
insert the Microsoft Office Premium 2000 SR-1 CD or to find the data1.msi
file to install from. The data1.msi file is not on my C: drive anywhere.
Any other ideas? Thanks.

Does this computer also have Outlook (part of MS Office) installed? If so,
and you've downloaded any updates for Office, your default mail program is
probably set to Outlook vs. Outlook Express. Try this to reset Outlook
Express as the default mail program:

Go to Start | Run and type the following:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Make certain to include the quotations marks and the space between the
ending quotation mark and the slash.

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools\Internet Options\Programs and
set OE as the default mail (and news) program.

I uninstalled IE 7.0, and I still have the same problem. Thanks anyway.
Any
other ideas?

I upgraded from windows Me to Windows Xp. I also upgraded to Internet
explorer 7.0. I cannot run Outlook Express anymore.

When i click on OE, i am prompted to insert the 2000 SP-1 CD to
reinstall
Outlook Express. This computer was given to me, so I do not have the
CD's to
reinstall.

Does anyone know how I can fix this so I can access OE? I have spent a
lot
of time searching ith no clear answers. Please help! Thanks.

Uninstall IE7 and see if it works.
