Newsgroup ... Combine & Decode ...
the "searching for hyper links" has always been a problem.
is it possible you can save the indivudual files and then use a split/combine program like JAS to put the parts together.
also I thought that RAR the program would re-assemble parts.
do not use it so cannot check.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I closed the Preview Pane from View | Layout and I did try again.
Results were the same. As 'combine and decode' came to an end it opened a
new window, and before I could 'save' it started searching for hyperlinks
and went non-responsive.
On my 'other' machine the Preview Pane is open and it still works.
Thanks again Frank.
Take care.

Good Day ...
This is a follow-up to my earlier posts relating to the fact that I can
not 'combine & decode' binaries in Outlook Express since I have updated
to IE7.
On my 'mirror' machine ... everything identical to the machine that is
having the 'combine & decode' problem except mirror does not have IE7,
still on the latest patch release of IE6 ... I chose a newsgroup, copied
all files to a temp folder in my Local Folders area. The file had 98 rar
files plus PAR files. When combining and decoding, I selected a group of
8 rar files at a time, combined and decoded, and then saved to 'decoded'
temp area on my hard drive. All went very well, and very fast. Total
size = 1.6gb; test was a success.
On my 'problem' machine, I tried the same test. Not able to complete a
group of rar files ... Outlook Express started searching for '
hyperlinks' and became non-responsive; test failed.
Test results:
Failu machine with Outlook Express and IE7
Success: machine with Outlook Express and IE6
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time, consideration, and help.
Take care.
