Sorry to piggy back on this thread but I get the same message but on only one
of my three identities; the other two work just fine. I've tried deleting
the offending identity and recreating it using a different identity name but
without any luck. Would I need to start from scratch with my accounts?

Under Tools|Accounts, remove the mail account. Close OE, log off and log back
on again. Open OE and create the account again.
