Default Outlook installing, can't find server

When I go into the control panel and click on mail, I get that windows
installer. I've tried deleting the profiles and creating a new profile, but
I still get that windows installer.
Also I can't close outlook when It tries to open and I try to cancel the
windows installer, I have to do the ctrl-alt-del but I have the outlook icon
in the task bar and if I click on it, I get a message something like, if I
have an exchange server I can cancel the request by clicking on the icon...
but I don't.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.

I had outlook 2002 and just updated to 2003. I installed from the CD just
outlook and not any of the other apps. now when I try to open it, I get a
"Windows Installer" dialog box telling me it's preparing to install. I get
the same results whether I have the CD in the drive or not. After about 10
minutes, it tells me it can't find the install server.

Anyone know what I need to do to get this thing working.

Also, when I go onto mail.live.com and try to access my contacts, it tells
me it's trying to process my request, until I finally cancel out after 5
or so minutes. I did have the connector installed on my old version of
outlook and I wonder if one has anything to do with the other... not that
I believe it does.
Thanks,
Carol
