Default Looking for my Message Store

Hi Bruce,

Following that, I get this address for my msg sto

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{651FEF03-F5AD-49E8-8735-3B1E6475A8FE}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express
When I clicked OK see below *** It gives me the page of dbx icons that I got
when I used the "Favorites Link, but not the Microsoft or Outlook Express
folder.

Using Windows Explorer I come to the same dead end where I get to the
{651FEF03-F5AD-49E8-8735-3B1E6475A8FE} folder and it's EMPTY.

I don't really understand this stuff. Is it possible that my identity has
disappeared, and if so is that a disaster?

Can I create a new folder called Outlook Express, copy all of those dbx
files into it , then copy the new OE folder to my backup disk?

Thanks,
Fred

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of
your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder
location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then Start | Run | Ctrl+V will put the
location in the box - ***Click OK and you'll see the OE files.***
Otherwise, write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer.

In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options
Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View.

Hi,
I'm looking for my message store to back it up, as I've done a few times
in the past.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application
Data\Identities\{651FEF03-F5AD-49E8-8735-3B1E6475A8FE}

When I follow this address, I get to the Identities, click on it and see
the folder {651FEF03-F5AD-49E8-8735-3B1E6475A8FE}, The problem is that
folder shows as empty. I think in the past, clicking on that folder would
show a 'Microsoft" folder, which when opened would have an 'Outlook
Express' folder.

Sometime in the past, when at my message store I made it a "Favorite"
page. When I click on that favorites link I get to a page that contains
icons for all of my dbx files. I suppose I can Select All and copy all
of those to my external HD used for backup, but was hoping to get to the
Outlook Express folder and copy that whole folder to backup.
Can someone set me straight on this?

Thanks, .... Fred
