Default Oe cannot show messages after IE7 Install.

It is the bak folder for the one that the messages have disappeared in. I
have several different folders for received messages. It is not the
recycle
bin. Is there a way to merge it with the messages I have received in the
past several days? After I deleted the dbx folder that I was having the
problem with and started OE it
started working ok but did not recover the messages that were in the bak
folder. I also noticed I have several dbx files of the same name as
several of my folders with a number after the account ( I have an R
folder. This shows up as "R.dbx" then there is an "R(1).dbx" . There are
a couple of folders like this and they are different sizes than the R.dbx
and the R.bak) I have several rules set to sort my mail to different
folders. Can I merge these folders or should they be deleted? I also
see a bunch of search folders numbered to 17 when I look at the dbx
folders. Will a lot of this stuff be taken care of when I compact the
folders or should they be deleted? I am guilty of not compacting my
folders as I was not aware it could be a problem but after I finish with
this I will take care of that. I hope I have described the problems so
their understandable. Thanks much for the help Les

This might seem complicated, but it should work.
1. If the old folder was named Saved, create a new folder in OE named Old
Saved.
2. Open Old Saved and close it.
3. Close OE.
4. Open Windows Explorer and go to your store folder.
5. Delete Old Saved.dbx
6. Rename Saved.bak to Old Saved.dbx
6. Reopen OE and your old contents should be in Old Saved. You can drag
them where you want.

Caution: Do not store messages in OE's default folders. As soon as
possible move them to user created folders in OE. Try to keep OE folders
Under 100 MB, and don't let them get anywhere near 2 GB. At 2 GB they will
stop working.
