Although I have always had e-mail scanning turned off in AVG Free, on
Thursday night I disabled it in Manage/Services & Applications and,
lo! no more tiresome message re `no connection available`.
Coincidence maybe?

I suppose, Kate, I could disable F-StopW to see if it is guilty of causing
that behavior on my machine. I pay Iceland once each year for F-Prot.
Overzealous protective programs are the most likely culprits in the IE7
newsgroup reports of dysfunction. Coincidence unlikely. Congratulations!
