Default Outlook Express

Glad you got the AB imported. I should have mentioned unchecking that in my
first reply, but forgot.

As far as your new problem, updating to SP2 and all the critical patches
since may fix the problem. I would try that first.

AFAIC, the Web Interface is a lousy way of posting to newsgroups. You would
do much better by setting up OE as your newsreader.

Setting up Outlook Express Newsreader for MSNews:

Sorry in taking so long to get back to you; have had company for two days.
Just did as you suggested and IT WORKED. Thank you so much.

Now, I'd like to ask for your help again. Friday, I had to reload windows
on
my desktop. So, I am running XP Home with SP1. When I made this posting, I
checked the box to receive an email when there had been a response. On my
desktop, when I go into Outlook Express and open the email response, I
find
the link Raed the Response. This link gets me to the Newsgroup, allows me
to
find my posting, and clicking on the + displays the responses. However,
when
I click on a response, it doesn't open; instead, I get a blank window to
the
right of the listings with a question, "Did this post answer the
question?" I
can't open the responses, can't create a new posting, can't reply, etc. I
suspect a setting somewhere in Internet Explorer needs to be changed.
Incidentally, I can get to the postings and open them with my laptop
running
on the WiFi network. Can you help?

Right click on the Address Book that you copied to the HDD | Properties
and
uncheck the Read Only attribute. Try the import now.

I did as you suggested. Opened the Address Book, clicked on
File/Import,
located the address book file on the cd and then received the following
message:
Address Book - Main Identity An error occurred during the import.
The
import process could not be completed.

Are you trying to import from the CD? That won't work. Copy the CD to
your
HDD. Open the Address Book and File | Import | Address Book (wab) and
point
to where you saved it.

I have exported my Outlook Express Address Book to a CD. I had to
reformat
my
hard drive the other day and reload Windows and all the other
programs
as
well. When I try to Import the Address Book into Outlook Express, it
does
not
recognize the file and transfer the information. Any hints on how to
accomplish an Import?
