Just thought of this, when you unsubscribed and closed OE, did the
newsgroup's DBX file delete? If not, it will use it again. Check that and
if the dbx file for the newsgroup is still there, delete it then restart.

Got me stumped :-)
1. The DBX file did delete,
2. Tried again by renaming the DBX file to OLD a couple of times as well,
result:
The news group DBX file stops at 2699KB (3699 - 3815 headers of approx
24000)
OE just quietly, with no fuss, stops responding :-)

(Where can I get the right kind of chickens?)
