Outlook AddIn for Terminal Server Users
Hi All,
we deployed an AddIn for a Terminal Server installation. Our client, who
runs this Terminal Server, requires that some users will be able to use this
AddIn and some not (implemented by policy). This AddIn has a reference in
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions to our AddIn dll.
Unfortunately for non AddIn users the directory to our AddIn dll is tight
down. If a Terminal Server user now (whose policy restricts Outlook to be
used with our dll) loads Outlook we get an error saying:
“The add-in “path to add in dll” could not be installed or loaded. This
problem may be resolved by using Detect and Repair on the Help menu.”
This is no wonder because the location of the dll is locked down for these
users. Furthermore we are not allowed to disable this add in by Tools
Options Other Advanced Options Add-In Manager because of our clients
policies. My Question is now whether there is a registry key for HKCU to
specify our AddIn (which I can’t find or at least outlook ignores it) or is
it e.g. possible to use an ECF file to point Outlook not to use this HKLM
setting for certain users.
Any Idea would be much appreciated……
Regards
Patrick
