Outlook 2003 no longer opens
I have MS Office 2003 installed in my computer. Recently I sent it out for
service. Before sending out, I removed the .pst file in Local
Settings\Applications\Microsoft\Outlook from the computer, and made a copy of
it on an external drive (F: was assigned at the time of copy). After I
received the computer back, I moved the .pst file to the same location
(C:\Local Settings\~), and started Outlook. But it could no longer open. I
uninstalled and re-installed the MS Office 2003, but the problem persisted.
The most recent error message read 'Unable to open default e-mail folders.
The file F:\Outlook.pst could not be opened'. It is not surprising, because
the drive letter F: was assigned to the external drive at the time of copying
the .pst file, and it is now assigned to another device.
It seems that Outlook remembers to go to a certain location to look for the
..pst file. How do I stop it from doing so? What should I do to make it open
normally?
Thanks much in advance!
