Default Outlook 2003 Shuts Down when Inactive

Milly, thank you for the suggestions. I was able to run scanpst.exe on
the .pst file and it found errors, but this did not help. I tried
running Detect and Repair several times, but each time I do, all it
seems to do is install this feature, which takes several minutes. I am
unable to get it to do anything else. That hasn't helped either. Can
you explain what you mean by "try a new mail profile." I'm not sure
what that is.

Open any other Office Product and under Help, use the Detect and Repair feature. If this does not work, then try running scanpst.exe against your .pst file (hidden file if you are searching). If none of the above helps, then try a new mail profile.

After furious head scratching, asked:

| Outlook 2003 will only stay open for about half a second if I am not
| typing. The program terminates as soon as I open it unless I start
| typing immediately. The moment I stop typing, it terminates. It has
| worked fine on my computer for years and started doing this yesterday.
| I have installed no new hardware or software, although Norton AV may
| have updated. I have tried disabling NAV, as well as rebooting.
| Nothing stops this problem. Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this?
