Or is this message stuck in the Inbox, still being downloaded from your server?

If so, it is probably a corrupt email that has got as far as the server.
In this case you will need to connect direct to your server,
using its Web email client if it supplies one or
using TELNET to port 110, if it is a POP3 server, and issue raw POP3 commands,
to delete the offending msg directly at the server.
