I have an old slaved drive which has an old version of Outlook 97 on

I
would like to import the old messages from this drive. Does anyone

know of
any easy way to do this, like the import command in Outlook express?

The Outlook Express Import command can import messages from Outlook
(97, etc.), BUT Outlook (97, etc.) has to be installed on the importing
computer because the import needs one of the Outlook libraries (.dll).
If you have Outlook installation media and key, then that's probably the
easiest. If not, there are third party alternatives.

It would also help if I knew what folder and name Outlook 97 keeps the
messages.

I last used Outlook 2002, but as far as I know it's the same in 97:

The messages/folders are kept in .pst or/and .ost files. The
directory/directories which contain these files can be configured, so
you'd better search for them (i.e. *.pst and *.ost).
