Does not recieve attachments from 1 sender, it work for the ot
If Outlook is set to send in plain text then the only other reason I know of
would be if it is passing through an Exchange server that is changing it to
RTF. Again, look at the source code in the received message for "ms-tnef"
without the quotes.

Within the last 3-4 weeks (I noticed but looking back it appears to have
occured arround the 1st of December) the Outlook 2000 on my system started
to
append all attachments as Winmail.dat. Previously attachments were sent
normally. Outlook is installed as Internet Mail Only on a non-corporate pc
(no exchange server involved - OS is XP Pro SP-2). Outlook is SP3
9.0.0.6627
& all updates applied. Send mail format is defined as plain text. Have
even
explecilty specified for recipient in Contact entry "send plain text
only".
Emails with attachments are sent plain text with the "attachment" appended
within the note as Winmail.dat when received by OE mail client. I can't
find
any more places to check or change nor any other documentation on MS site
other than Article ID: 138053 that would apply. Another person using
Outlook
XP is experiencing the same issues. Another friend says she's seeing the
same
issue in emails sent to her(she's a OE users) by a person using Outlook on
library computer from upstate NY - the attachments come as appended
Winmail.dat. Something changed and I don't know what. Only software
installations have been IE 7 Beta then the full version when it was
released
+ system updates. But since this appears more wide spread than my PC I'm
wondering if a patch hasn't changed something unknowlingly. Any
information
you could share or suggestions other than what I've done would be
appreciated.
Thank you

When i recieve e-mailmesseger i receive the attachments form almost all
the
senders (changed the security setting), but for 1 user the attachments
are
received (saw the attachments in webmail) but are not downloaden in by
outlook express.
Help?
OE cannot download a message but not the attachment. It doesn't know
there
is an attachment or where in the message the attachment starts. How big
is
the message?
If the mail was sent from Outlook using Outlook's RTF format then Outlook
Express will never find the attachment. Outlook Express does not
understand
Outlook's RTF format. Ask the Outlook user to please use Plain Text,
especially when sending attachments.
While viewing the message press Ctrl-F3. If you find a Content line
referencing "ms.tnef" then the message was sent from Outlook.
