i installed an item that lets you send mail to seperate people int eh 2
field. I installed it just fine but when i go to a folder and read the
contents of it it shows all my messages and marks them as read eventhough
i never viewed themthis way. then when I set it up the way i want it to hide
my read messages it shows the true messages that have not ben read but then
when I come back to that folder later it shows the messages as read and
shows the full contents of the folder. I tried compacting and the other
maintains stuff. This also happened with spam aware as well. when I
uninstalled the items all was well.

Outlook Express does not like most third party add-ons and they may
well be the cause of your problem.

express it changed some settings in teh view menue and the setings i
keep changing to the way I want them won't stick. how can I fix
this?I really don't want to uninstall the toolbar items that help
