Default Lost email - cannot restore

First you can perhaps explain what "rebooting IE6" means?

If you dump dbx files into a message store, OE is not going to all of a
sudden incorporate them. I don't know where you got that idea.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4 for message recovery techniques.

They may or may not be there.
I'd rather start at the easiest solution.
How do I get a new DBX file to appear in the folder list?
I thought by deleting Folder.DBX, and rebooting IE6, Folder.DBX would
rebuild with all DBX files in the store folder.

Is that a falsehood?
If so, how do I get a DBX to appear?

thanks

The messages are unlikely to be in the files anymore. The only thing I
know that might get them is my DBXpress program that will analyze the
entire hard drive for messages. If they are still there, it will find
them, but there's no way of knowing without running it. See
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4 for message recovery techniques.

Somehow, I lost all deleted email between 12/25 and 1/10.
I restored the Deleted Items.dbx to an alternate folder.
Renamed it to DeletedItemsOLD.dbx and copied into my Store Folder.
Deleted Folders.dbx
Restarted IE6.0 and DeletedItemsOLD.dbx did not appear in the folder
list.

How do I get DeletedItemsOLD.dbx into IE6 so I can selectively restore
emails?

thanks
