How to Transfer OE Accounts
Hi David,
You could try importing (from OE) the account information from Outlook on
the old PC. Then export the account information from OE (on the old PC) for
use on the new PC using OE. I don't know if this can be done from Outlook to
Outlook. The password will not be retained when account information is
exported from OE.
You can set-up a mail account in OE (or any mail client) using information
provided by your ISP or mail provider. If the new PC is using the same ISP
connection the same account settings would be used. More answers might be
available from an Outlook group.
To try importing, then exporting the account information (without password):
Create a folder (the Desktop is a good location) to save the account
information before exporting from OE.
In Outlook Express
1.On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
2.On the Mail tab, click the mail account that you want to export, and then
click Export.
3.In the Save In box, locate the Mail Backup folder on your desktop, and
then click Save.
4.Repeat these steps for each mail account that you want to export.
5.Click Close.

I recently built a new PC (with XP Pro) and I'm in the process of moving
important documents and such from my old PC to this new PC.
I'm having trouble importing an existing OE Account from my old PC to this
PC, and I have no clue as to how to go about it. I tried creating a new
account using the same email address but it didn't work (duh) and now I'm
completely stuck.
So, does anyone know how to import an existing OE account to a new computer?
Btw, old computer has MS Office 2003 and I'm using the outlook program in
that. Will that change anything?
