Default Problem switching between identities

One or both of your current Identity may be damaged, especially if one of
them is the default Main Identity and if OE was open during the install or
uninstall of IE7.

Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity (File Identities
Add new identity). Assuming all is well, (1) compact all folders in the

old identity, (2) import messages from the old identity into the new one,
and then (3) delete the old one (File Identities Manage Identities).

If the behavior persists, replace the other identity.

To avoid such corruption in futu

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [not available in SP2] and frequently
perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

- WinXP SP2 only: Do not shut down your machine while Windows is
automatically compacting your message store.

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

Hi there!
I am having problems switching identities in OE 6. When switching from
one
account into the other one, files won't transfer. I close OE and if I want
to re start it again, it won't open. I have to reboot the computer in
order
to open OE again.
Everything was working fine in my computer until I downloaded IE7. I was
having so many problems with IE 7 opening sound files in the Internet that
I
decided to uninstall it and go back to IE 6.
I am using Windows XP Pro Service pack 2, IE6-OE6. This problem is really
annoying as I have to reboot the computer every time I want to switch
accounts.
Thanks
Mary
