Default Outlook telephone extensions for dialing out in a PDA

To add an extension number to a Contact phone number, put an "x" after the
phone number, followed by the extension. Alternatively, you can enter the
extension under "Phone Details" in the "Check Phone Number" dialog box.

However, the Windows Dialer used by Outlook just ignores the extension and
dials only the phone number. This is probably true for most phone and PDA
dialers also. It definitely is for my Qtek 8500, running WM5 - it dials the
phone number but ignores the extension. You are correct that this diminishes
somewhat the effectiveness of Voice Command if you have to manually dial the
extension number after having VC dial the phone number for you.

How do I put a pause and an extension number on a contact phone number that I
will dial directly from my PDA. I use voice command dialing without looking
at my phone and don't know the extension of the person I am calling.

I would like it to be able to voice command dial the phone number then pause
a moment then automatically pause and then dial the extension when dealing
with automated attendants.

I know I can do that if I add it to my speed dial, but I don't want to put
speed dials in for every phone number with an extension. Thanks
