Default Lost directory path in My Computer Folder - Tools ribbon displays nothing

I suddenly have lost the directory path in the folder at the top
Tools ribbon,
and I haven't got any idea how to restore it. I cannot use "Return" or
go back,
as no any icon is shown at the top. When I click on MY Computer,
there should be at the top some icons placed, but they are not there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated -

I would suggest that a newsgroup like microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
would be a more appropriate place to seek an answer. Here you will
mostly find Outlook Express experts, hence the name of the newsgroup.

Thanks, you are correct in principle. However, this "event" occurred
just after the one of "automatic upgrade", which referred to OE.
Hence I assumed that this "event" could not be only "mine"...

Are you the original poster? I missed that information in the first
message.

The first message was posted from Outlook Express in WinXP SP2 and this
second message was posted from Windows Mail in Windows Vista beta release.

The latest Outlook Express update would not have caused this. Did the
problem occur with IE6 or IE7?

For IE6 click View | Toolbars and make sure that the Address Bar is
selected.

For IE7 the Address Bar cannot be removed without a Registry edit. Did you
do that?
