Why can't I send MP3s in OE6?

I'm glad that helped.
It seems that computers often have a mind of their own and settings seem
to get changed for no apparent reason or changes don't seem to stick.
Don't you believe it! You are just coddling to what the computers want you
to think.

You know what Mike? I did try that and it still did the same thing. I
just
went back in and tried disabling once again and it worked. Maybe I didn't
save my settings the first time I did it, Thanks for your help.

Do you have your anti-virus set to scan outgoing mail? That's
unnecessary and can cause problems sending attachments. It could be
that the anti-virus is skipping image files but trying to virus check
the MP3 files.

OS:XP Pro, OE6.
When I try to send an MP3 as an attachment (3meg), I get this:
A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Subject
'vvv',
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'SMTP.COMCAST.NET', Protocol:
SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19
I've increased the time out span to 3min with no change.
I can send other files ie: photos larger in size, with no problems.
Any
ideas and thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
