As they're MSN-specific, you'd be much better of posting your questions
to
MSN Discussion newsgroup where they're familiar with the ins & outs of
these changes: microsoft.public.msn.dicussion

'PA Bear' I appreciate your response which provided a link to a google
group
discussion of this. Unfortunately it doesn't address any of my below
questions. I would be very appreciative if another Microsft MVP could
address these questions (and hopefully it will benefit all MSN POP3
users!):
1) Regarding the 'SERVER TAB' in Outlook Express:
It does NOT instruct as to whether I should ALSO remove the check in
the
box
for for 'My server requires authentication' in 'Outgoing Mail Server'
box
in 'SERVER TAB'. Presently it has always been checked and within it's
'SETTINGS' button it it says to 'use same settings as incoming mail
server'
is selected/checcked. Should I keep the the box for 'my server
requires
authentication' in 'Outgoing mail server' section of 'SERVER TAB'
checked???
[Again there is no instruction as to whether to uncheck that box.]
2) Regarding the 'ADVANCED TAB' IN Outlook Express:
Please note, I am aware from the instruction emailed to MSN POP3 users
that
under the 'ADVANCED TAB' that the boxes for 'this server requires an
secure
connecton (SSL) BOTH nned to be checked now under the 'server port
area',
and that the incoming server Port # needs to be changed from 110 to
995,
while apparently the outgoing server port will remain unchanged as Port
25???
3) Also, for those MSN POP3 users, has changing these setting (from
pop3/smtp.email.msn.com to pop3/smtp.live.com ) caused difficulties
receving
pop3 mail in OE or sending mail??
4) I heard from MSN tech support that there are problems and for me
to
await revised emailed instructions, which I haven't received yet; the
February 1st deadline is quickly approaching. Anyone know of what
these
revised Outlook Express instructions are and when they are being
emailed??
Thanks in advance for answering the above four question!
