If NTL is your ISP, then you need to use the NTL email address that they
gave you, to connect to their server.
You can use anything you like when using Newsgroups - indeed it's better to
use something that doesn't exist, to avoid spam - for instance -
(Unless you have permission to use an email address from dress.co.uk - then
you shouldn't. It's a legitimate website and all your mail will end up
there.)
