Default OE under XP - admin user versus restricted user

I would check to see what is shown at this location in the registry:

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software
\Microsoft
\WAB
\WAB4
\Wab File Name

Then the next question would concern whether or not Outlook is also
installed and, if Contacts are shared with that program, is the user Bambi,
an authorized user of that program also? For sharing Contacts between
Outlook and Outlook Express, see:

Hi Jim;

Thank you for the follow up.

Yes, the regular user has OE set up.

I set up a brand new HP with XP and two users. One admin and the other
"bambi" with restricted access.

I then set up OE under the "bambi" user and have problems ever since with
OE not recognising the address book and calling for a re-install of OE. As
an experiment I set up OE under admin user with the same email setup as I
had attempted under the "bambi" user. Within the admin user OE works fine.

So, I re-installed OE but have the same problem under the "bambi"
restricted user.

I'm thinking of removing the "bambi" restricted user and initiating a new
"restricted" user and see if OE operates under that. What do you think?

Regards,

MMP

Does the regular user have an account set up in Outlook Express under its
menu, Tools/Accounts - Mail for that user?

Hi everyone.

Just set up a new HP computer with XP. Set up two user accounts; one
admin and the other a regular user account(I'll call it bambi).

Activated outlook express in both user accounts. Admin OE works fine
BUT bambi user OE will not allow a new email, access to the address book
or opening of email. Pop up states "corrupted, reinstall OE".

To experiment I copied the admin express shortcut and placed it in a
"bambi" folder. Went back to bambi user and activated that shortcut and
same problem arose.

Is this an OE problem or is XP somehow restricting OE from initiating on
the restricted bambi user account.

Anyone got any idea what's happening?

Any assistance, greatly appreciated.
