Future of Outlook Express for Windows XP users
As long as XP is supported by MS, OE will be supported as well. There will
not be any future enhancements, but security issues and any /new/ flaws will
be addressed.
WLMD will be an option, not a requirement, and from what I have seen and
heard, I'm not the least bit impressed. And yes, Windows Mail is only for
Vista.

As I understand it, there will be no more upgrades for Outlook Express
for Windows XP users. The sucessor to OE is a web-based email program
developed by Microsoft called Windows Live Mail Desktiop, currently in
beta testing. Is that accurate? The current Windows Mail is only for
Vista users.
Myself, I'm not a big fan of web-based email programs (too slow and
clunky). I actually like Outlook Express 6, although it could use a few
upgrades, such as better security and a spam filter.
