Default central data-storage with OE

An option is to run your own local mail server that accesses the ISP via
POP3 and then provides IMAP support to your local PCs. For examples of
such a programs, see:

Hello,

I'm using OE 6. I have 3 PC's connected to a router. I want to connect
a external hard disk (UTP-connection) as well. Then I want to use this
device for the storage of my mail.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to do so"? I can imagine problems
and conflicts the moment two or more persons open their mail at the
same time. In total there are six mail-accounts divided over the 3
PC's. From each PC all accounts must can be used.

Hope anyone can help.

Thanks,

susan
