I had mentioned the problem with Hotmail, but my POP mail from my ISP
provider had the same problem. The fix you recommended solved both issues.
Anyway, I appreciate the time you "volunteers" spend helping out the rest of
us.

That's why us volunteers are here. To pick up the slack. That said, a MU or
WU update may not be the way to address the problem since many users do not
use Hotmail, myself included.

This suggestion fixed the problem. Unfortunately my search of the MS
knowledge base did not return the useful info you provided - one would
think
that patches such as this would be included in the latest version of the
downloads.

I have been using the POP3 feature of Hotmail on server
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
for years on both a paid subscription account and a legacy accout. I
just
installed IE7 and now the Hotmail password is not accepted. I have
another
computer that is still using IE6 and OE6 and it still accesses the POP3
server without problems.
I have checked the conguration of OE and it is the same on both
computers.
Any suggestions?
