Default Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and Vista Ultimate-Mail Retreiva

I did post the resolution, but in another thread. Here it is....

"OK OK. I think I've partially solved this issue. Vista seems to have some
compatibility ssue with some firewalls (Linksys in my case), update your
firmware and let me know if this makes a difference for you. It seems to have
worked for me.

Good Luck!

Outlook is not capable of downloading mail from a POP3 server. The same
sOutlook on XP would work great. What is with Outlook 2007 and Vista that
would make any receiving call to the POP3 server run like molassess?

I have up-to-date equipment running the latest release versions of Windows
Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 Pro. Everything except Outlook is performing
as expected.

The problem - Whenever Outlook connects to download mail (POP3 or IMAP), it
takes forever to download on a 6MB broadband connection. It does not matter
what or where your connection to the internet is. Once you've exited the
program from frustration with over 3 hours to kill, and when you restart the
Outlook, it will try and download all the mail again, even if it has been
marked as read!! It's a slow torture!!

This problem existed with the beta versions (both Vista and Orifice 2007)
and you would think they would have fixed it before release. This really sets
back our migration with a few clients who rely on email (like everyone else)
for their business. As for anti-virus and firewalls in front of the software,
I am running Microsoft Live1.
