Default Outlook 2003 - Disspearing Emails?

Perhaps you have a view set that eg only shows last seven days, or perhaps
you have the Archive option set, so it is archiveing mail after 'xx' days

I have thought for a while now that emails are going missing from my

inbox,
I recieve so many emails, and deal with them so quickly that this was
difficult to prove 100%. Recently I did an experiment, watching one

specific
email. Apart from opening it to read, I did nothing with it. Sure enough,

a
few days later its gone!

I am using Outlook 2003 SP2 on Windows XP Pro SP2 (Fully updated).

I am using only POP mail on the system (Around 3-4 accounts).

Any ideas will be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Simon.
