Default Followup Flagged items in the Deleted Items Folder

I agree with both Milly and Diane that items like that should not be
deleted. After all the deleted items is sort of a "one step away from being
permanently deleted" place. The problem is when you hit the delete key, the
item goes into the deleted items folder. All items that you're done with go
there when you click the delete button and there is no way around it.

One of the items mentioned in a Lifehacker.org article to keep your life
sane is to make sure your inbox is clean. That's what makes it so difficult.

Nice comical satire Milly. ;-)

The Deleted Items folder is not a holding place - it is the garbage bin. If
you want to keep items for later follow-up, create a folder called
"follow-up" and move the items there.

I ask for the umpteenth time (though probably not of you) do you keep your
lunch in your trash bin? No? Then why keep important items in the deleted
items folder? What Icon is used for that folder? That's right, a trash
can.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Mr. Michael asked:

| Outlook 2007 has a nice feature that allows follow-up flagged emails
| appear in the Task list pane. However, I don't like my inbox to be
| cluttered up with items. So I delete the emails and later may follow
| up.
|
| However, when I delete the email, the email no longer appears in my
| Task list. Is there an option that can change this? How do I delete
| an email (obviously not permanently) and still be able to see it in
| the Task List.
|
| Cheers
