So wouldn't a Micosoft

There are such things as unintended consequences. A new analgesic
medicine for cows was introduced into India, Pakistan, and Nepal, so
that when farmers came in to the feed store and asked what to give to a
cow that wasn't eating well. Its use is widespread. Unfortunately, it
gives vultures, who are the primary disposal agent of the sacred cow,
gout and they have died off in the wild. This causes a stinking mess
everywhere, and has boosted the population of wild dogs and other
four-legged scavengers. India now has the highest and fastest growing
incidence of rabies anywhere in the world. Who would have guessed that
a cow aspirin would have this result?

Think of Microsoft Office products as a herd of sacred cows. You do an
operation on one member and give it a new medicine, and are surprised
that when another eats the former's cud, it looks strange?
