Is there any way to pursuade OL 2007 to display full SMTP email

What's a "message list"? Do you mean the Inbox display? What shows in the
From field is determined by the sender.
Bzzzzt. Sorry, incorrect.
What shows is flat out NOT determined by the sender. The sender's
SMTP/RFC822 header address is. How Outlook chooses to display it is not.
(BTW, call it the "Inbox" display if you like, but it's not specific to the
Inbox. It's any list of mail messages.)
For example, I received a message that shows up in an inbox-equivalent
message list as simply being from "WServerNews" (not including the quotes).
If I open the message, the sender is listed as
"WServerNews ]"
If I use "Message Options" to check the actual SMTP header
"WServerNews"
Why the h-e-double-hockey-sticks does Microsoft have to screw around with
the sender's address, insted of simply displaying it as received? And not
even give me the option to see reality?
By observation, I see that every time the sender includes a text sender
name as well as the address, Outlook hides the address and includes only
the text name.
All I want Outlook to do is stop hiding usefull information. Other email
software has been doing it well and correctly for years. This is NOT an
improvement. It's a prime example of how Microsoft gets in trouble trying
to make the Internet look cute and cuddly, and then people get in trouble
because they don't see what's really going on.
