I hate to say it, but nothing helped. I spent $150 on tech help from
microsoft and Symantec, which was total waste. I can't believe that
symantec
charged me $60 just to tell me that I didn't have a virus. I am already
paying a subscription on three computers! I still don't know what the
cause
of the problem was, but my operating system continued to deteriorate to
the
point I couldn't even access my DVD or CD drives. Bought a new computer
with
Vista and started from scratch. I will try to revocer that computer no
that I
am back up and operating on my network. It was A real nightmare!

Thank you Steve! I am writing from work, so I cannot immediately try
these
tips you provided. I will try them tonight when I get home and post the
results to the list tomorrow.

Go to Control Panel | Programs and set OE as default. Also see

When I click on an email address link in a mail message, suddenly it
opens
about 36 I.E. windowes and locks-up my computer. I have done a
thorough
check
for viruses and my computer is clean. There seems to be a problem
with
outlook that I can't resolve. Outlook doesn't have this problem in
other
accounts on my computer. Lately, I have been getting the message
"outlook
is
not your default mail client", but it always has been. Very Strange?
