Overloaded Email Box Problems
Here is my problem, and I hope some one out there can help me on what to do.
I went away for the weekend and left my PC on, like always. Well, I wasn't
able to get to my email until late Sunday. It had loaded up with a little
over 2,200 emails and it wasn't accepting anymore. No problem, I was just
starting to delete some of them, and then make room for the new ones. Only
problem is I forgot to turn off my internet connection, and it started to
download more. When I went to delete a big block of emails, it was bringing
new ones in at the same time, and then things just froze.
Well, I was able to copy my Inbox folder from my Outlook Express folder, and
I copied it to my work computer, that has no internet access. I then copied
the empty email box to my main computer, thus allowing me to still receive
new emails.
When I tried to just copy the folder into the work PC'c Outlook Express
email folder, and then open it up, nothing showed up. When I then copied
over this file with the empty folder gain, I then tried to import the
messages from a store directory, and this told me that it was an invalid
folder, and that nothing was inside.
Does anyone out there know how I can access this file and somehow reduce it,
without compromising the integrity of the folder, and thus allowing me to
open it up again in Outlook Express. I was hoping I could maybe open it
using Notepad or WordPad, remove a bunch of text from different messages,
close the file, and then import what is left into OE6, and have good
messages left.
Is this possible, or is there another program that will allow me to do this.
If not, is there some other way that I am not thinking of, or doing, to
somehow import these messages into either OE6 or Outlook even.
Thanks for ay help from anyone in advance. All help or suggestions are
greatly appreciated.
