"File As Name" vs "Full Name" in linked Contacts
I see. So you're only talking about the field, not any view in which you can
actually expect to view or sort your Contacts? The name used there is
derived by Outlook from name elements. You cannot control it.

I'm talking about the contacts dialog box where you enter information. In
the lower left corner, below the address field, is a button labeled
"Contacts..." The linked contacts show up in the text box beside it. Don't
know if it's in every version, but I would guess it is.

Replying again. Your post cannot be answered because it is too vague. We
have no idea to which view you are referring nor how you have configured
that view. We have no idea where you are seeing "Full Name" or "File
As..."
Pl;ease provide accurate, clear details when you post in a newsgroup. We
cannot guess at what you might mean.

Trying again....
Outlook 2003, SBS 2003, and Office 2000
When I open an Outlook contact, click on the "Contacts..." button in the
lower left corner, and add one or more contacts, sometimes the linked
contacts will show the "Full Name" instead of the "File As Name." How
can I make it show the "File As Name" always? Note that most of the
time, it does show the "File As Name."
Also note that when the link shows the "Full Name," a pinhead will
appear when you mouse over the link and there will be menu options when
you right click on the pinhead. No pinhead will show up when the "File
As Name" is used. However either way works OK as a link.
I need the "File As Name" so I can distinguish between duplicate
contacts with the same full name.
