Default Inbox items disappearing.

Lots use it and it has been there since at least Outlook 2000.

After furious head scratching, Denzil asked:

||| I recently started using Outlook 2003 after years with Outlook 2000
||| . I ( have XP SP2.) I will sometimes quickly look through my
||| Inbox's new email, briefly glancing at each one in a lower pane.
||| Then, I will go back and begin complete opening them to read in
||| detail - maybe answering one even.
|||
||| A few times I have returned to the Inbox to find emails that I KNOW
||| were there, missing!
|||
||| I've searched high and low and can't find them. Where can they be?
||| I know I didn't delete them - anyway, Deleted Items is empty.
|||
||| Any ideas? Regards, Denny.
