Verify that the file is in the location when you reference it. Does it play
in preview mode? If so, then go back to Edit mode (Use View | Source Edit)
and use File | Save. Then close the message and open it up again in its own
separate compose window from the Drafts folder, and then see if the CID is
there in the Source Window. If not, then something is clearly wrong.
Make sure you don't have any antivirus software set to scan email (see
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) and if that doesn't fix it, then try going to
File | Identities and set up a new Identity and see if it works in that
Identity.

That is already checked. This has to do with converting the Sound File
when
it's embbeded into a CID source code. As you can see at the bottom of
this
email, it shows just the path to the sound file and does not change the
file
into a CID
Example: src="cid:003101c72849$6649ba60$6400a8c0@ezpc" volume=-600
This is what you see in the source code now:
Incorrect source code: src="C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My
Documents\Midi\Fire-mountain.mid" volume=-600

After downloading IE7, OE 6 no longer codes the embedded wav or midi
files
properly. It only shows the path to the file.
I have an older email I have opened and copied the code of an embedded
file,
what can be done to correct this since upgrading to IE7?
Saved email: cid for background sound:
DIV /DIVBGSOUND balance=0
src="cid:003101c72849$6649ba60$6400a8c0@ezpc" volume=-600
Now it shows just the path:
src="C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My
Documents\Midi\Fire-mountain.mid"
volume=-600
