Default Rich Text Editor

Granted, Word Pad uses Rich Text Format. I just have never heard anyone use
the phrase Rich Text Editor. Note that in Outlook, (not OE), you have the
choice of Plain Text, HTML, and Rich Text, and OE cannot read messages from
Outlook sent using RTF. That is why I thought you originally were referring
to Outlook.

I think this is just a matter of semantics. You get 100 credits.

I should know better than to cross foils with an MVP. Word Pad uses "Rich
Text Format" or ".rtf"

How many credits do I get for this post?

But: Word Pad does not use the phrase *Rich Text Editor*, and I have
never
used Word or an Office product.

A matter of terminology I would settle for.

Keep posting replies to posts. That's how I got /stuck/ with the MVP

honor.

New Message or ReplyFormatRich Text (HTML) is how you access it under

OE6.
/QP

I never heard of that as being refereed to as a *Rich Text Editor* in OE.
Just a formatting change.

Word Pad is another Rich Text Editor and MS Word recognizes the format.

Thanks for the reply.

What is a Rich Text Editor? It's not an Outlook Express option. Perhaps
an
MS Outlook component?

Outlook and Outlook Express are entirely different programs. You will get
better help in an MS Outlook newsgroup:

Is there a way to set the rich text editor as the default for messaging.
I'm getting tired of having to check it with every new message.

Thanks,
