Hello,

Click on Send/Recv on the toolbar button while the icon is appearing at the
bottom. You should now see a progress bar with the status if Outlook Express
is in the process of sending a large mail.

A positive indication would be that the mail you sent will be moved from the
Outbox to the Sent Items folder.
