Default Display all messages?

Well, I hope you are wrong, because that would really be helpful. So, if I
want to find a message by say, John Smith, do I have to
search/sort by name in each folder separately?

Doesn't Outlook 2002 have Find button on the toolbar that gives you a Look
for bar where you can drop down the Search In field to do Choose Folders?
That's where you could do a search for all messages from John Smith. (If
it's not there, I *know* there's an Advanced Find somewhere in the program,
I just don't have it handy to find it. I'd check Help for Advanced Find to
track it down if I were you.)

And yes, it really is helpful to have this sort of functionality, which is
probably why Search Folders were a very welcome new feature in Outlook 2003.
It'd be nice if all the new features could be added to old releases, but
that's not usually very viable.
