Default How do I get Outlook 2007 to retain my password?

The problem is even worse in Windows Mail... it doesn't save either my user
name or my password.

I'm able to get my email via Outlook 2007 - the problem is Outlook does not
save the password, even with "retain password" selected. I have to type my
password in for each of my email accounts EVERY time I open Outlook. The
problem has been identified in KB article 290684, but the article fails to
give a Vista solution. It stops at XP. I tried the XP solution, but it Vista
won't allow editing of the registry key identified in the article. At this
point, I'm just looking for a fix from Microsoft, or a work around from an
Outlook community member.

What ISP are you connecting to?

Thanks, DL... Just tried, and it didn't resolve. This is just killin' me.

OL2002 is not fully compatibal with Vista
Try creating a new profile, with new data file, & add your accounts &

test

Found KB article that acknowledges the issue and attributes it to the
Protected Storage System Provider subkey in the Windows Registry but

the
KB

I've tried to see if the XP process would work, and it doesn't - get

when trying to delete the subkey. Can ANYONE help me with this

annoying
problem?
