Did you update the DL after you removed the Contact?

Yes, the contact is not listed in the dl.

Did you makes sure the entry was also deleted from the DL when you deleted the Contact?

Yes

What Outlook version?

OL 2003 w/sp2

It is in Outlook Contacts.
