If you build a custom Task form based on any other item template, you will
not get any Task related functionality.

You're basically limited to extending the Task form, not replacing it.

Why not just create your own task form from scratch?

I am wondering if you can edit the 1st page of the default task

form?
When I
try to do so, all of my edit options are disabled. I can edit the
contact
form, but not the task. Please advise.
