Outlook 2007 address books unavailable
Thank you for this posting! I have been trying for a month to figure out why
after getting my new machine with Vista & MS Office 2007 then migrating my
datafiles/setting from old machineto new one that the Outlook Address Book
was grayed out and I could not link my contacts to my address book. A support
person at Microsoft said I did not move my csv file and that was why I could
not get my address book to work even through I could see the contacts in my
contact list. It did not make sense to me so I started web research on this
issue and finally cam on your answer. My question is if I delete the current
profile and add a new one to make the Outlook Address Book visible, can I
still use the same information from the old profile for the new one and
import my old pst file?

There's a bug in Outlook 2007. You can no longer remove the Outlook
Address Book service and re-add it to repair the service. All you can
do is create a new profile.
I haven't explicitly tried that in my copy of OL 2007. What a bummer.
