Are both network connections enabled in Control Panel-Networking?

After furious head scratching, WebColin asked:

| I have noticed that when it's working the "Connect to SERVERNAME"
| option is available under the file menu. When it's not working, this
| option is grayed out. Somehow, this is clearly related to the
| problem, but whether it's a symptom or the cause, I don't know.

| How can I re-activate that option so I can try to re-connect to my
| IMAP server? I think if I can do this, I will have fixed my problem.
